Las cooperativas desarrollan planes de negocio, mejoran las pr\u00e1cticas agr\u00edcolas sostenibles, reciben formaci\u00f3n sobre los derechos de uso de tierras y se adaptan a las normativas internacionales. Esta iniciativa les ha ayudado a equiparse con herramientas operativas para monitorizar las cadenas de suministro de cacao libres de deforestaci\u00f3n, y ha reforzado sus capacidades en los \u00e1mbitos de la cartograf\u00eda geoespacial, la vigilancia del uso de tierras, los sistemas de trazabilidad y la diligencia debida. Esto hace que pa\u00edses productores como Ghana est\u00e9n obligados a garantizar cadenas de suministro transparentes en el sector del cacao. \nEn colaboraci\u00f3n con la Junta de Cacao de Ghana (COCOBOD), el Programa de Cacao Sostenible ha puesto en marcha el Sistema de Trazabilidad del Cacao de Ghana, mecanismo encargado de efectuar un seguimiento digital del cacao desde la plantaci\u00f3n hasta el puerto. En su fase piloto se han cartografiado 40.000 plantaciones y se ha registrado a m\u00e1s de 20.000 agricultores en el distrito de Assin Fosu. \nDurante la temporada baja de 2023\/2024, el sistema hizo posible la compra, clasificaci\u00f3n y exportaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 1.230 sacos de producto. En Brasil, la existencia de informaci\u00f3n dispersa y de sistemas no conectados entre s\u00ed limita la capacidad de efectuar una trazabilidad de las materias primas, evaluar riesgos y garantizar el cumplimiento del EUDR en diferentes cadenas de valor.\nCon el apoyo de AL-INVEST Verde, la plataforma Selo Verde est\u00e1 implant\u00e1ndose en cinco estados: Minas Gerais, Esp\u00edrito Santo, Mato Grosso del Sur, Tocantins y Acre. La plataforma conecta datos procedentes de las cadenas de suministro del caf\u00e9, el cacao, la soja y el ganado, e incorpora la automatizaci\u00f3n, el an\u00e1lisis de riesgos y la interoperabilidad de los sistemas. Con ella, las pymes, las cooperativas y los organismos p\u00fablicos est\u00e1n capacitados para generar y utilizar datos de trazabilidad con una mayor eficacia.\nEl resultado es una mayor visibilidad de las cadenas de suministro, una verificaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s rigurosa del cumplimiento normativo y una mejora en el seguimiento de los riesgos de deforestaci\u00f3n. Un total de 1.969 partes interesadas han recibido formaci\u00f3n y certificaci\u00f3n al respecto, incluyendo representantes del sector p\u00fablico, el mundo acad\u00e9mico y la sociedad civil, as\u00ed como cooperativas y empresas del sector del cacao. Los formadores replican sus conocimientos a nivel local, reforzando las capacidades de trazabilidad, georreferenciaci\u00f3n y cumplimiento del EUDR. Tambi\u00e9n respaldan la inscripci\u00f3n de hasta 30.000 operadores en el sistema GUIA y la verificaci\u00f3n sobre el terreno de datos de geolocalizaci\u00f3n correspondientes a 3.000 parcelas de cultivo de cacao.\nEste enfoque en cascada mejora la coordinaci\u00f3n, aumenta la calidad de los datos y refuerza el cumplimiento normativo. Al reunir voces diversas \u2014entre ellas, las de los peque\u00f1os agricultores y las pymes\u2014, la iniciativa foment\u00f3 una visi\u00f3n com\u00fan de lo que supone, en la pr\u00e1ctica, una producci\u00f3n libre de deforestaci\u00f3n. Las diferentes interpretaciones del reglamento, junto con los retrasos en su calendario de implementaci\u00f3n, han generado incertidumbre sobre su aplicaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica y las implicaciones para el comercio.\nPara fomentar el entendimiento conjunto, la plataforma de deforestaci\u00f3n cero ampli\u00f3 su centro de conocimientos y organiz\u00f3 numerosos eventos de divulgaci\u00f3n. A trav\u00e9s de los viajes europeos de la Iniciativa del Equipo Europa (TEI EuroTrips), representantes de los pa\u00edses socios visitaron instituciones europeas, puertos y autoridades aduaneras para observar la implementaci\u00f3n del EUDR en la pr\u00e1ctica. Los grupos de trabajo regionales facilitaron adem\u00e1s un intercambio continuo en \u00c1frica, Am\u00e9rica Latina y el sudeste asi\u00e1tico.\nEstos esfuerzos fortalecieron la comprensi\u00f3n y confianza rec\u00edprocas entre las instituciones de la UE y los pa\u00edses socios. Los productores, las empresas y las autoridades a menudo necesitan combinar datos de distintas fuentes, lo que crea barreras para una debida diligencia eficaz y el cumplimiento del EUDR.\nPara hacer frente a este desaf\u00edo, el proyecto de Agricultura Sostenible para Ecosistemas Forestales (SAFE) respalda la adopci\u00f3n de soluciones digitales de c\u00f3digo abierto que refuerzan la trazabilidad y la interoperabilidad. Un ejemplo es la herramienta WHISP (del ingl\u00e9s \"What Is in that Plot\", Qu\u00e9 hay en esa parcela) de la FAO, que combina conjuntos de datos de observaci\u00f3n terrestre de acceso p\u00fablico para generar evaluaciones fiables del riesgo de deforestaci\u00f3n existente. La herramienta recibe alrededor de 10.000 manifestaciones de inter\u00e9s cada mes, y se est\u00e1 considerando su integraci\u00f3n en los sistemas nacionales de Per\u00fa, Brasil, Paraguay, Indonesia y Etiop\u00eda. En ellos participaron representantes gubernamentales y organizaciones de productores, as\u00ed como empresas del sector privado y representantes del mundo acad\u00e9mico. Los participantes debatieron acerca de la preparaci\u00f3n para el EUDR, los desaf\u00edos espec\u00edficos de las materias primas, la trazabilidad y los resultados de simulacros realizados. Los di\u00e1logos ayudaron a identificar soluciones \u00fatiles y compartir una serie de buenas pr\u00e1cticas.\nLos di\u00e1logos reforzaron la preparaci\u00f3n para la implantaci\u00f3n del EUDR y permitieron establecer alianzas duraderas en toda la cadena de valor. Utilizando tecnolog\u00eda satelital, se monitorizaron m\u00e1s de 142.000 hect\u00e1reas en m\u00e1s de 1.400 plantaciones para respaldar el cumplimiento de los compromisos de deforestaci\u00f3n cero y los requisitos emergentes en el marco del EUDR.\nLa iniciativa piloto demostr\u00f3 el potencial de la monitorizaci\u00f3n v\u00eda sat\u00e9lite para proporcionar evidencia fiable de la producci\u00f3n sostenible. Su \u00e9xito anim\u00f3 a FEDEPALMA a expandir la metodolog\u00eda a m\u00e1s de 18 millones de hect\u00e1reas en todo el pa\u00eds.
