It details national production, trade, processing, and export systems, highlighting the dominance of a few major companies and the challenges of tracking cocoa from farm to export. Despite numerous public and private traceability initiatives, only a minority of cocoa is fully traceable to the farm level. Key barriers include fragmented data, post-harvest mixing, and complex land and trading arrangements.
