Focus Group Discussion on the EUDR focusing on the Cocoa Sector

Held on 13th August 2024, this FGD centered on the cocoa sector’s readiness for the EUDR. With 153 participants, the event focused on deforestation-free compliance, traceability, and the challenges faced by smallholders. The discussion highlighted the importance of existing efforts in the cocoa supply chain to ensure sustainable production and the need for capacity building to ensure readiness for the EUDR. The Ministry of Agriculture presented updates on the National Dashboard, which will play a key role in data management. The event provided a platform for stakeholders to align on action plans and support needs to ensure deforestation-free value chains
