The Palm Oil Barometer, to be published in May 2025, is a landmark publication providing in-depth analysis and recommendations for a more sustainable palm oil sector, with special emphasis on the position of smallholder farmers.
Oil palm is highly efficient and could help smallholder farmers escape poverty within a generation. But the market is broken. Profits are inequitably distributed, leaving farmers—who produce almost a third of the world’s palm oil—struggling to make ends meet.
In this webinar, we’ll have presentations from various experts in the palm oil sector and an engaging panel debate.
Our speakers will be:
- Marieke Leegwater, Moderator – Solidaridad Network
- Georgina Barker, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the UK
- Dr. Law Chu Chien, Solidaridad Malaysia
- Michel Riemersma, Solidaridad Europe
- Dr. Maja Slingerland, Wageningen University
- Fiona Wheatley, Bakkavor Group
- Mark Wong, SD Guthrie
