Practical Guide to Design and Implement a “Responsible Sourcing Policy” and “Code of Conduct”.
This practical guideline helps organisations design and implement a Responsible Sourcing Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct. Tailored to coffee, cocoa and palm oil supply chains in Colombia, it aligns with EU requirements: EUDR (legality and deforestation-free) and CSDDD (human rights and environmental due diligence). It covers best practices for policy scope, explicit commitments and SMART targets, meaningful stakeholder engagement, accessible grievance mechanisms, implementation mechanisms and transparent reporting. It consolidates social and human rights commitments (e.g., child and forced labour, non-discrimination, fair remuneration, FPIC) and environmental commitments (deforestation, chemicals, water, soil, climate). It references Preferred by Nature’s Sustainability Framework v1.4 and key international standards (UNGPs, ILO, OECD).
