Team Europe Initiative sur les Chaînes de Valeur sans Déforestation

This publication examines Malaysia’s efforts to strengthen smallholder readiness for compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which requires deforestation-free supply chains for key commodities, including palm oil. Focusing on a jurisdictional dialogue and awareness training in Johor, the report highlights the importance of legality compliance, traceability, and sustainability certification for maintaining market access. It emphasizes the critical role of MPOB licensing, MSPO certification, and collaborative initiatives involving government, private sector, and smallholder organizations. The publication concludes that sustained technical assistance, improved land governance, and inclusive partnerships are essential to achieving a fair, traceable, and sustainable palm oil supply chain.
