EUDR Community of Practice Public Session – Insights from six months of technical exchange - Team Europe Initiative on Deforestation-free Value Chains

Join the EUDR Community of Practice public session on 17 September 2026 to explore key lessons, emerging good practices and implementation challenges identified through six months of technical discussions among businesses, Competent Authorities, technical experts and other stakeholders.

Since its launch in March 2026, the EUDR Community of Practice (CoP) has served as a neutral platform bringing together businesses, EU Competent Authorities, producer-country representatives, civil society organisations, technical experts and the European Commission to exchange practical experience and address common implementation challenges under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Established by the EU Sustainable Supply Chains Coalition and the European Forest Institute (EFI), the CoP seeks to promote collaborative learning and constructive dialogue among stakeholders involved in EUDR implementation. Through technical exchanges, case studies and small-group discussions, participants have explored practical approaches to due diligence, legality, supply chain transparency, substantiated concerns and other implementation-related topics.

As part of the CoP’s commitment to transparency and knowledge sharing, the wider EUDR Community of Practice is invited to a public session sharing the main lessons and emerging good practices identified during the first six months of technical exchange.

The session will provide an opportunity to hear key insights from the CoP’s activities to date, discuss common challenges and exchange perspectives on effective EUDR implementation.

What will be covered?

Ad Hoc Session on Service Providers
Ad Hoc Session on Certification Schemes
Technical Small Group Discussions

Drawing on these exchanges, speakers will share practical observations and recurring themes related to EUDR implementation across commodities, supply chains and stakeholder groups.

Promoting sustainable practices and collaboration by supporting village HCV/HCS conservation efforts, testing and strengthening the National Dashboard for traceability and legality, and fostering national and regional exchanges.
