Cocoa Insight: Preparedness check of Ghana for the EU Deforestation Regulation

This preparedness assessment report evaluates Ghana’s readiness to comply with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements for cocoa production. The report reviews existing national policies, traceability systems, and legal frameworks related to the EUDR. It highlights Ghana’s progress in developing a comprehensive national traceability system and the challenges of aligning land use and forest management practices with EUDR standards. The document aims to guide stakeholders in aligning Ghana’s cocoa sector with the EUDR by 2024 and 2025.
