The Regional Dialogue, organized under the SAFE project, is a collaborative initiative led by a consortium of partners including the Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA), Cocoa Sustainability Partnership (CSP), Partnership for Indonesia Sustainable Agriculture (PISAgro), and Solidaridad Network. It focuses on addressing the intersection of forest conservation and commodity production to help meet the European Union’s Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements. The dialogue engages diverse stakeholders—smallholders, traders, growers, private sector actors, development partners, and government officials. It explores technical challenges and opportunities for EUDR compliance, building on prior thematic discussions to promote knowledge exchange and cross-sector collaboration. The goal is to co-create innovative solutions for inclusive sustainability transitions, with insights feeding into strategies for deforestation-free supply chains and compliance at domestic and global levels.
The 2nd Regional Technical Dialogue aims to:
• Assess the technical challenges of the supply chain actors identified during the 1st Regional Technical Dialogue.
• Identify and prioritize immediate facilitation measures at various supply chain levels to enhance the enabling environment for transitioning to deforestation-free supply chains.
• Promote the collaborative development of Business and Investment Cases that highlight pathways and opportunities for innovative support and financing solutions, enabling inclusive development to transition towards a sustainable commodity supply chain.
