Traceability for forest-risk supply chains

Finding solutions for responsible sourcing — with insight from IKEA, SIG, Sofidel and the launch of WWF’s new Guide to Effective Traceability

We know traceability matters. But what are the solutions required to make effective traceability a reality?Traceability is fundamental to responsible sourcing. Effective traceability allows companies to:

  • Mitigate sourcing risk with confidence
  • Demonstrate compliance with emerging regulations such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
  • Build trust by fulfilling voluntary commitments to Deforestation- and Conversion- Free supply chains.

Ultimately, traceability is vital for advancing the responsible sourcing of commodities linked to deforestation, conversion, illegality and/or human rights violations – including timber, palm oil, soy, rubber, cocoa, beef/leather, and coffee.

As demand and shareholder expectations grow for traceability, there is a strong need for effective solutions. This public webinar, hosted by WWF’s Forests Forward programme and European Policy Office, will:

  • Showcase hands-on solutions from companies and experts that are showing leadership in traceability
  • Clarify the key elements that traceability systems should incorporate and what companies can do to support progress
  • Discuss the alignment of traceability systems with the EUDR
  • Provide ample time for Q&A

With:

  • Mikhail Tarasov | Head of Forestry, Inter IKEA Group
  • Udo Felten | Manager, Global Environmental Sustainability & Affairs, SIG Group
  • Riccardo Balducci | Sustainability Director, Sofidel Group
  • Anke Schulmeister-Oldenhove | Manager, Forests, WWF European Policy Office
  • Jason Grant | Manager, Corporate Engagement, Forests, WWF-US

This webinar is particularly relevant for: Companies, governments, tool developers, certification systems, NGOs and other stakeholders looking to understand and implement effective traceability of forest-risk commodities.
