This report evaluates Cameroon’s preparedness for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), focusing on cocoa sector compliance. It reviews traceability systems, forest monitoring tools and legal frameworks relevant to deforestation-free and legal production. Cameroon has made progress in mapping cocoa plots and developing data-sharing platforms, but challenges remain regarding informal trade practices, data reliability and forest monitoring. The absence of a national traceability system and limited access to forest management documents hinder due diligence. Strengthening governance, transparency and stakeholder collaboration is essential to support operators and ensure cocoa’s eligibility for placement on the EU market.
