This report assesses Côte d’Ivoire’s readiness for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), focusing on cocoa sector compliance. It reviews national traceability systems, forest monitoring tools and legal frameworks relevant to deforestation-free and legal production. While Côte d’Ivoire has made notable progress—such as implementing a unified traceability system and adopting the ARS-1000 standard—challenges remain regarding data interoperability, forest boundary transparency and legality verification. Strengthening governance, updating spatial data and integrating sustainability tools are essential to support operators’ due diligence and ensure cocoa’s eligibility for placement on the EU market.
