This report summarizes a technical workshop held in Accra on Ghana and the EU’s preparations for implementing the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) in the cocoa sector. Key topics included EUDR requirements, Ghana’s national traceability and deforestation risk systems, stakeholder engagement, and challenges for compliance. Ghana has developed the Ghana Cocoa Traceability System (GCTS), Deforestation Risk Assessment Module, and Child Labour Risk Assessment Module to meet EUDR criteria. The workshop highlighted the need for collaboration, data sharing, and capacity building among all actors to ensure a smooth transition to deforestation-free, sustainable cocoa exports to the EU.
