The Forestry Industry in Paraguay

This document presents the results of a research study on the forestry-wood sector in Paraguay. The study was conducted through the collection, analysis and processing of primary data obtained through surveys, visits and interviews with professionals and experts in the sector, as well as secondary data from scientific and non-scientific literature.

The objective of the study is to provide a knowledge base on the sector and to identify its strengths and weaknesses in order to propose a preliminary roadmap for the development of its competitiveness and sustainability. It also seeks to identify potential new markets, with special emphasis on exploring the opportunities offered by the European Union (EU) market. In this context, it is of vital importance to comply with the requirements of the new EU Regulation on Deforestation-free products (EUDR).
