This presentation outlines how spatial data can support due diligence under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) for cocoa products. It explains the requirement for operators to verify that cocoa was not produced on land deforested after 31 December 2020. Using Côte d’Ivoire as a case study, the presentation reviews national forest cover data, geolocation of cocoa plots and additional spatial layers relevant to risk assessment. It highlights the importance of combining national and global datasets to assess deforestation risk and ensure compliance. The presentation was delivered to stakeholders to promote best practices and data-driven approaches to EUDR implementation.
