This report summarises the lessons learned, achievements and experiences of the event ‘MERCOSUR–EU Soy: strengthening a strategic value chain’, which took place on 20 and 21 May in Buenos Aires and Rosario, within the framework of the SAFE programme and with the valuable support of multiple regional and European partners.
Over 120 people participated in person during the two days, including representatives from the European Commission (DG ENV, DG AGRI), competent authorities from Member States such as Catalonia (sub-national), European importers’ and operators’ chambers (COCERAL, FEFAC, CESFAC, ANACER), traceability platforms and systems from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia, as well as national officials from Mercosur countries, local embassies, ministers from Germany and the European Union Delegation in Argentina, together with cooperation organisations, representatives of the private sector and civil society.
