The symposium aims to present and synthesize the latest scientific research on deforestation-free value chains and EUDR aspects.
By showcasing results from ongoing studies and emerging practical operational work related to the EUDR and the agriculture-forest-trade-nexus, it connects academia with political stakeholders and implementing partners to foster exchange, alignment, and collaborative learning across regions, sectors and disciplines.
Technical discussions on the newest findings on forest maps and the interpretation of land-use, geodata and traceability, legality , smallholder inclusion, green finance, forest conservation, climate-smart and regenerative agriculture, and policy frameworks, will provide background understanding for evidence-based political and legislative decision-making to decouple agricultural production from deforestation while enhancing benefits for producers and landscapes.
