Increasing due diligence requirements are shaping how producing countries maintain access to European markets. Within the FIT for FAIR project, cross-country learning sessions are organized to exchange experiences on operationalizing and preparing for EU due diligence legislation, including the EUDR and the CSDDD. The first exchange, held on 15 December 2025 and focusing on Colombia, brought together participants from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and El Salvador to discuss challenges related to human rights and informality, traceability and data governance, and financing for due diligence implementation. Discussions highlighted that these issues are closely interconnected and require inclusive, territorially adapted approaches, interoperable traceability systems, and long-term financing solutions to support smallholders, SMEs, women, and young producers. The knowledge sharing sessions are implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC).
