This guide offers a structured and accessible overview of the electronic Cultivation license (e-STDB) registration process for smallholders cultivating commodity crops within forest areas designated as Special Purpose Forest Areas (KHDPK) in Indonesia. This guide is the result of collaboration between GIZ, the Ministry of Agriculture, Koltiva, and key stakeholders in Bandung District, West Java.
It builds on the identification and analysis of the (Electronic) Cultivation Registration ((e-)STDB) registration process for farmers in special purpose forest areas and is designed for farmers, facilitators, government agencies, and private sector actors. It clarifies the roles of each institution at the national, provincial and local levels, highlights common challenges through case studies, and provides best practice recommendations to ensure alignment with national regulations and forest governance frameworks. It also outlines step-by-step procedures, eligibility criteria, and mapping requirements to support legal recognition, traceability, and inclusive participation in sustainable agricultural supply chains.
A vital resource for advancing inclusive development, strengthening compliance with sustainability standards, and empowering community-based forest management in Indonesia. This guide is available in Indonesian and English.
