Dialogue for Sustainable Coffee in Latin America: Good Practices, Challenges and Future Prospects

This document summarises the 44th edition of SIGEP, the International Ice Cream, Confectionery and Bakery Exhibition, held on 21 January 2023 in Rimini, Italy. The event was organised by AL-INVEST Verde as a dialogue between European and Latin American players in the coffee chain. The event analysed best practices and the main challenges facing the sector in order to achieve a more environmentally friendly production model. The International Italian-Latin American Organization (IILA) also participated in the fair. The IILA is part of the consortium implementing AL-INVEST Verde’s Component 2, together with the Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIIAPP). The IILA has been working for several years on the promotion of the Latin American coffee sector, hence its participation in the SIGEP fair.
