Environmental Traceability as a Tool for Paraguayan Meat and Leather Competitiveness

This document is a diagnosis of the Paraguayan beef and leather value chain’s structure and a comparative analysis of traceability systems in the country.

This document forms part of the national strategy to increase the competitiveness of agricultural products in international markets. The strategy’s aim is to establish the traceability and certification of leather. AL-INVEST Verde’s technical assistance helps to develop public policy on the traceability and certification system for the meat and leather value chain. This should also serve as a tool for the private sector to make the sustainability of production more visible.
