Strengthening the Value Chain of Santa Fe Meat

This report summarises a technical mission in Argentina’s Province of Santa Fe that AL-INVEST Verde conducted from 12 to 19 December 2022. During the mission, visits were made to cattle farms, tanneries, slaughterhouses and research centres, and meetings were held to share the socio-environmental traceability initiatives implemented in Brazil with the National Institute of Agricultural Technology’s (INTA) technical team as well as farmers, environmental organisations and rural societies.

The purpose of this mission was to promote sustainability in the beef value chain and collect data for action. In order to present the main findings of the technical mission and to formulate guidelines for the strengthening of the sustainability policy in Santa Fe livestock farming, this report incorporates data obtained from documentary research and public databases and from Argentinean organisations and associations.
