Traceability Initiatives in the Meat and Leather Value Chains in Brazil

This document presents an overview of the cattle traceability arrangements in Brazil, from calf to slaughterhouse. It is part of the EU-Brazil Beef and Leather Value Chain Dialogues. This has brought together importers, retailers, slaughterhouses, tanneries, exporters, livestock farmers, researchers, associations and civil society organisations to reflect on sustainability and identify best practices and potential partnerships that can contribute to the improvement of these production chains. This was an initiative promoted by the European Union through the AL-INVEST Verde programme in collaboration with the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM).
