To establish a baseline for assessing project impacts, the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM) conducted an in-depth study of its intervention region. This Policy Brief presents key findings and recommendations to support the development of sustainable production chains. It compiles data on land use and land cover, land tenure, environmental challenges, access to credit and technical assistance, commercial relations and inclusive partnerships, social and productive organization, gender relations, as well as public policies for sustainability and traceability. The insights offered aim to inform policies and initiatives by public, private, and third-sector actors to strengthen production chains and rural communities in the Amazon.
