How can companies effectively implement the EU regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR)? A new practical handbook sheds light on risk mitigation measures as one of the most important development aspects of EUDR. Art. 11 on risk mitigation asks companies to support smallholders through investments and capacity building. They can build on proven tools such as landscape approaches, certification, and living income strategies to address EUDR risks. For capacity building, existing resources like the the EUDR ToT guidebook provide practical guidance.
The handbook was developed by AidEnvironment on behalf of the EU- and BMZ-funded project “EUDR Engagement.”
