Procedure for Evaluating Assurance or Certification Systems within Due Diligence.
This procedure explains how to assess whether second‑ or third‑party certification/verification systems cover requirements relevant to EUDR/CSDDD and an organization’s Responsible Sourcing Policy. Using the DD‑15a template, it evaluates: A) production requirements (general and EUDR‑specific); B) system requirements for audited entities (control of non‑conforming products, risk‑based approaches); C) requirements for auditing entities (competence, QA); and D) scheme‑level governance and transparency.
It sets out a six‑step process and a coverage rating (covered/partially covered/not covered). Certifications inform risk assessment but do not replace due diligence.
